In 2017, The Atlantic celebrated its 160th birthday. To celebrate its rich past, we turned to its extensive archives for stories in which to breathe new life. Helen Keller's 1932 article, Put Your Husband in the Kitchen, still feels timely (and funny!) more than 80 years later. I adapted this animation from the original article, with voiceover provided by senior editor Alex Wagner. The backgrounds were hand-painted in gouache and the animation was primarily done in Adobe Photoshop and cleaned up in Adobe Illustrator.
